The company was founded, in 1989, by brothers Dana and David Pump. The "Pumps" have forged a strong network of relationships with university athletic directors, college coaches and the youth basketball community. These contacts have enabled them to establish a basketball-specific sports community. Double Pump utilizes their constituency network to conduct collegiate athletic searches, operate events that facilitate player recruiting, host industry forums that accommodate information exchange, and perform consulting engagements on behalf of their retained customers. The company also founded the Harold Pump Foundation, in 1999, to raise money for cancer research, programs and services. Since its inception, the foundation has donated $2.5M to Northridge Hospital (CA), its major benefactor. Grassroots Basketball Programs Double Pump operates a series of basketball events designed specifically to showcase the talents of scholastic age student-athletes with college coaches. The company also fields its own, Los Angeles-based, elite travel teams. Nationally, Double Pump selectively sponsors other regional club teams, which feature the Pump N Run brand in their name. * Double Pump Tournaments are the west coast's top destination for players that are looking to be seen and college coaches interested in discovering talent. The company's tournaments consist of two 64-team spring tournaments (Denver, CO/Las Vegas, NV), the Three Stripes Tournament in July and followed by their nationally acclaimed Best of the Summer Tournament. Last year over 150 teams participated in this tournament. All of the Double Pump tournaments are held during the NCAA designated "live" periods. Both July events are held in Los Angeles. Double Pump events attract nationally ranked teams, are held in first class venues and are professionally managed. |
